BIOGRAPHY
JESSE BOYD-WILLIAMS is an award winning actor, playwright, director, dramaturg, educator, and voice-over artist from Detroit, MI. His recent credits include assistant directing Confederates by Dominique Morisseau (Detroit Public Theatre), For Colored Girls (Wayne State University), and directing Blood at the Root (Underground Theatre Company). TV/film work includes BMF (Season 2), No Sudden Move (2021), and Why Me!? (2022). Jesse earned an A.A. in Telecommunication from Henry Ford College in 2022, where they interned with Mosaic Youth Theatre of Detroit. He also serves on the Black Theatre Network’s executive board as Undergraduate Liaison. Notable theatre credits include Blues for an Alabama Sky (Detroit Public Theatre), Chicken & Biscuits (Wayne State University), The Magnolia Ballet (Williamston Theatre), and A Raisin in the Sun (Detroit Lighthouse Theatre). In 2023, Jesse won the Black Theatre Network’s StudentQuest monologue competition in St. Louis, MO.
